Palim Pictures sees things differently.

Our core ethos is human-centred storytelling: creating an emotional connection between audiences and protagonists across the screen. Our production process delves deep to develop nuance and thereby instigate empathetic responses and action on some of Asia’s most pressing social issues. We not only engage in commissioned work for media organisations, UN Agencies, and NGOs, but also build long-term, independent documentaries to bring about social justice on issues we’re passionate about.

What we offer

Directing & Producing

We manage and direct documentaries, films, and advocacy videos from inception to delivery.

Filming

Using top-of-the-range Sony cinema cameras, drones, gimbals, and audio-recording equipment, we shoot cinema-quality footage and sound. We also offer underwater services.

Research & Investigations

Our investigative rigour has earned us Pulitzer Grants and visual reporting projects for CNN, The Guardian, and elsewhere.

Photography

Images can challenge the status quo and serve as catalysts for change. We deliver compelling photographs for the likes of The New York Times, Der Spiegel, and Getty Images.

Post-production

Our projects are artfully sound-designed, colour-graded, and thoughtfully edited to bring compelling stories to life.

Motion Graphics

We produce, script, and design engaging animated films as projects-in-themselves or build on footage-driven films using motion graphics.
