Overview

INSIGHT is a one-hour current affairs programme by Channel NewsAsia (CNA) that looks at political, social, and economic issues throughout Asia and beyond.

The episodes we worked on explored a wide range of social and economic issues shaping Thailand’s future: Thailand’s demographic crisis and efforts to reverse its plummeting birthrate in one of the world’s fastest-aging societies; the mounting debt crisis squeezing Thailand’s middle class amid sluggish economic growth; and the rise of the controversial 'Passport Bros' movement, which is bringing Western men to Southeast Asia in search of ‘traditional wives’ — sparking new debates around gender, culture, and modern relationships.

About the Project

Palim Pictures leads the cinematography on a number of CNA INSIGHT episodes in various parts of Thailand covering a number of topics from age care centres in Bangkok, maternity wards in rural hospitals and IVF clinics, as well as people fighting human trafficking to scam centres in Myanmar along the Thai-Myanmar border. Each episode is made up of dozens of interviews to give a rounded look at topical news.
